The Home Run Club is the booster club for the Allen Eagle Baseball program.

A new "season" for the Home Run Club officially began tonight with the election of a new board. We have next year's junior and senior classes well-represented and are poised for a good two-year run with lots of consistency and access to veteran booster club parents. And next  year's sophomores are off to a great start with a strong showing tonight during the recognition of the freshman team.

But election of a board is only the beginning. The real strength of the HRC rests deeper in the roster with the volunteers whose support for their son takes the form of volunteering in some capacity for the HRC. Throughout the course of the year, we will need volunteers  to staff concession stands, make locker decorations, continue the excellent tradition of our annual Bingo Night, and more. There really is something for everyone to do. In an upcoming blog entry, I'll highlight some of the traditional volunteer opportunities available. And who knows, we may even create some new ones.

Congratulations to Dylan Inkman, Joe Mills and Taylor Black on being selected for the 2010 Rawlings/Perfect Game Preseason Texas All-Region Team.  These three players were selected for the Honorable Mention team.  These teams are selected to recognize the top 400 high school baseball athletes in the U.S.  According to Rawlings representatives, there are more than 240,000 high school baseball athletes to choose from in the nation.  Dylan, Joe, and Taylor should be proud of this accomplishment.  Way to go, keep up the hard work!
